Fireworks Contest teams get ready to light up the sky Friday, 12 September 2008 Yesterday four teams, Germany, South Korea, Japan and England, spoke with the media about their expectations of success at
the 20th Macau International Fireworks Display Contest, with Germany promising a big bang and a last song by German industrial metal band Rammstein.
<...>Meanwhile South Korea wants to work with several angles in the sky, adding that they want to illuminate it. Their subject will be a traditional South Korean painter while their music will include Celine Dion, Billy Joel as well as two South Korean singers. As for England, this will be the group's first time they have put music to fireworks. This is because music was only introduced in 2005 and this will be their first performance since then. With regards to the music, they believed they could provide a different dimension to the show. The group said that audiences preferred a show with music and this was a new concept for them. Finally, Japan have performed three times before and managed to win every time, which makes them a formidable force in the competition. Their performance is top secret though, which they refused to divulge but said that they wanted to cover the sky. They thought that Macau was a huge show, one of the biggest in the world. The subject of their show will be Japan, as they wanted to promote their country to the audience. Finally, it was suggested that the best spot to see the show was between Macau Tower and the Kun Iam statue. The Fireworks Contest is organised by the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) with Wynn Macau again playing title sponsor. The Contest will run on September 13, 14, 20, 27 and October 1 at the sea area in front of the Macau Tower, with two of the dates, September 14 and October 1 falling on the Mid Autumn Festival and China's National Day, respectively. There will be 10 teams in total, from Germany, Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Chinese Taiwan, the Philippines, France, Australia and China.© Macau Daily Times Начиная с 07:20 до конца
